Tibetan and crystal singing bowls offer different listening experiences. In Viktoria’s recordings, you can see metal bowls alongside larger white crystal bowls. The most useful comparison is to hear them at a comfortable volume and notice what you enjoy.
Start with the instruments you can see
The metal bowls in these sessions vary in size and are played with mallets. The white crystal bowls are larger, with rounded open forms. The eight-hour session gives you a view of both sets in the same space.
Listen beyond the label
A bowl’s sound depends on the individual instrument and how it is played. Recording, microphone placement, and your speakers also affect what reaches you. A single video cannot represent every Tibetan bowl or every crystal bowl.
Compare two sessions
Play a few minutes of the mixed-bowl recording above, then try Viktoria’s three-hour crystal-bowl session in the session library. Keep your device volume comfortable for each. Listen for how the strikes begin, how the sound fades, and how much space there is between notes.
Which is better for meditation?
There is no need to choose a universal winner. You may prefer one recording for a short listening break and another for an evening routine. Let comfort and preference guide the choice, rather than a claim that a particular bowl must produce a particular result.
